Not about batteries, clearly.

Video games. They have been around for a while now in one form or another, and they consume the time of countless people daily, including myself. A staggering stat:
The Call of Duty franchise has existed since 2003, and over the course of the last 22 years, Call of Duty players have racked up 25 BILLION hours played. That is 2.85 MILLION YEARS!

So as you now know, video games are BIG. Well, they can be big. Some of the big ones that most gamers are familiar with include Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Fortnite, Mario, Pokemon, etc. These are called triple A games (AAA). They are made by AAA studios like Ubisoft, Infinity Ward, and Nintendo (which is it’s whole other thing). AAA studios have big teams of developers, designers, producers, testers, and so many more small roles to play. They also spend the most time and money on marketing and sponsored play for streamers where they will dole out cash to big streamers to give their game exposure.
Not every game is a AAA game, however! There are two other levels to video games and their developers: AA and Indie. AA and indie games run together in spots, but it is a good rule of thumb to remember that AA games usually have some semblance of marketing and have a team of more than 1 person 99% of the time. Indie games are, well, individually produced games. They typically are less fleshed out, or may have lower resolution graphics, but are still whimsical and engaging. They also receive far less marketing, and much of it is done by the developer themselves, or by streamer friends the developer may have made friends with during development. Here is a good visual:
| AAA Games | AA Games | Indie Games |
| – AAA developers – Big budgets – Mass marketing – Ginormous teams | – Not AAA developers – Smaller budgets – Often smaller teams from AAA studios | – Solo or minimal marketing – Miniscule budget comparatively – One person usually |
To make it a bit more personal, I am going to give you my very first…
BIGS’ TRIO O’ TREASURES
Now for this first trio of treasures, I am going to give you, the reader, a TRIPLE trio. So a nono? You know, 3 multiplied by 3 is 9 and a 9 sided shape is a nonagon! Get it?! Nevermind, bad joke. Anyway, my trio of favorites for every level!
AAA

A masterpiece of a run and gun. Shoot, loot, and follow a fantastic story through one of the most insane worlds ever built.

I used this one for a reason. My favorite Call of Duty by nine miles (shame how far is has fallen). Mob of the Dead will forever be the greatest zombies experience.

This game is the culmination of the Ezio storyline in Assassin’s Creed. It follows the story of the Templars in 1511 and 1512, and it RULES. My favorite AC.
AA

It Takes Two is one of the greatest co-op games ever made. You work together to get back to your actual body after being turned into wooden and yarn versions of yourself. Play it with anyone and everyone.

Forgive me for never playing the first one, but Remnant 2 has quickly become a favorite of mine. The replayability, visuals, and gameplay of it stand out for this level of game.

Now, this one is drastically different than the others. There are no guns, no loud noises, and no real loot to get. However, you play as a cat and your goal is to get out of the very deep hole you fell in initially. Play it, I beg.
INDIE
Now this one is going to be tough because I have played countless indie games and there are equally as many that I love. Here we go.

This game is so addicting. Between the gameplay, art style, and music, it brings so much joy and entertainment. It is equally as frustrating at times, but stick with it. I promise it is worth it.

The only semi horror game on this list, but it is SO worth playing. No details here. Just play.

“The pain of your absence is sharp and haunting, and I would give anything not to know it; anything but never knowing you at all…”
This game WILL change you for the better.
Well, there is my crash course on the levels of video games! I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you come back for the next one. It will be interesting too, I promise.
Deuces, and peace.
Bigs out.
